9800 GT/X Running MW2 and BBC2

So, I want to get my little bro a GPU for his B-day but that only thing i can get my hands on is a 9800 (not sure if its gt or gtx) and i know h really wants to play Battlefield bad company 2 with me so my question is will he be able to run that game with a 9800 and 512 on board ram ?

ill get the model anme and everything in a few hours when a talk to the seller but i really want to know if he would be able to play the gamw the me even on low !?

I suggest you save some money go for 4670 HD and buy him more RAM

512 mb is not enough.

lol Im sorry I should have said the specs on the Pc before but its a phenom II 940 at 3.0 and 4gb or DDR2 ram he has 512mb of ram on the 9800 so i dont think more then 4 gb of ram will help sorry that was my fauly for not explaining like i should

anyway the reason im getting the 9800 is cause its going to cause me like nothing to get it from a friend so....

Remeber this is for the Game Battlefield Bad Company 2 thats about to come out so i was not sure

9800 is more than enough to play it on low. i'm estimating you'll be able to play on medium/high at 1680x1050 with no problems at all.

A 9800GT is good but a 9800gtx+ is better, a gts250 is a rebranded 9800gtx+ and cheaper plus u can has 1gb gddr3

and if you think its going to run it fine at 1680x1050 then we are in good shape cause his screen doesnt even go that far i think he plays battlefield 2142 right now at 600x800 lol

I am assuring you that it will play all your desired games including Bad Company 2.

Don't worry, since you are getting it for free.
(I wish I had a friend like yours)

It will run fine 1280x1020 with maximum settings, since 9800 GT is a no joke card.


If you wanna increase resolution to 1680x1200, It will still perform great.


And there can't be any evidence, since the game is not out yet.

But It will play it, that is for sure
