I have a Compaq Presario CQ50-215NR. The display is absolutely dead, no flicker, no nothing. I started and started and connected an external monitor-also blank. When I connect a CRT monitor, it does click when I connect and disconnect the cable.
The power light and wireless indicator lights come on and the harddrive light flickers.
QUESTION: I am assuming that the graphics card failed, is this a replaceable card or is it integrated into the motherboard? It has a 256MB Nvidia GeForce 8200M. I have not opened the computer because it isn't mine. I am helping a friend.
