"Found New Hardware USB Device" appears when wireless connected

Last response: in Windows XP

Everytime I open my wireless, I get an alert - "Found New Hardware USB Device." This disappears if I turn off my wireless, and it reappears as soon as I turn back on my wireless. (There is no USB device attached to the computer.) I then have the "Found New Hardware" wizard. If I specify to install the software automatically, it just goes on and on without ever downloading anything.

Is there any chance this is a security issue? Is there a way to make this go away?

Thank you in advance.

Assuming this is a laptop, and you are turning the wireless on and off by an external switch:

On some laptops the wireless card is connected to an internal USB port. That explains the USB part, but XP should not need to install the driver each time. I would download and install the latest driver and see if that helps.
