I am having trouble getting my computer powered on. It turns on for a second and then turns off. I have taken the board off to sheck for a screw or anything touching where it shouldnt. I have breadboarded it on a cardboard box.
My question is what is the likelyhood that the new mobo I put in was defective from the get go? Does that happen very often? It is my first time building but I did take my time and researched a lot before I started. it is an ASUS M4A79XTD EVO 790X AM3 RT.
Just looking for my next step here, I am kind of stuck, and with my limited background I have exhausted all of my resources already. Thanks for any help!!
There is always a chance that your MOBO was DOA. I would recommend reading through and completing the steps in the below thread. It covers some of the best troubleshooting tips on the web (some you seem to have tried).
