what's the rest of your system going to look like?

regardless though:
a 550W PSU would be able to handle a 4850 without a problem.

however, depending on your current PSU, you might consider a 5750. it's performance is comparable if not better than the 4850 but it supports directx11, which i got a good feeling will take off soon. plus it's power consumption is a lot less than the 4850, only 16W at idle and i think it peaks around 80W. as a result runs cooler too.

for 15$ more, i don't think you can go wrong.

the vapor-x version is 10$. it's a tad faster and better cooling
