Iomega Desktop Hard Drive

Hello,
I have an Iomega Prestige USB 2.0 Desktop Hard drive. It worked fine with my former computer using Windows XP but since I switched computers using Windows 7, it will not save any files to the external Hard Drive. The external Hard Drive is recognized and back up starts and is verified but it always unsuccessful and the error message reads, Device not ready. What could be the problem?

  1. From IOmega's site try downloading and installing the correct driver for the device you have.

    Another option is to disable (not delete) the IOmega in Device Manager, and then re-start the computer.
