packet writing software for satellite notebook CDRW?

Hi,

I have a new Toshiba satellite P10-504. It has a CDRW, but we could
not find any cdrw software other than the built in windows XP burning
function.

its not good for us because we want to share the CDRW on a network, as
we did with our old HP CDRW, and then people can drag and drop files
onto the drive
when it has a CDRW CD inside it, from anywhere on the network.
WindowsXP doesn't seem to enable this (even when shared as read write,
it says read only error when trying to write files on it from the
network).
we need some software like DirectCD on hp, to enable robust packet
writing.
is this possible with the satellite CDRW (to get it free from toshiba
or elsewhere)
