MSI K9N Neo v2 and a gigabyte nvidia 460GT

Hello everyone,

I have purchased a Gigabyte nvidia 460GT and when I try to install drivers on XP or Seven it restart with a blue screen all the time I log in windows.
In the Bios my motherboard doesn't recognize the Graphics Cards.
There is no bios update for now, do you know what to do please?

Motherboard: MSI K9N NEO v2
Memory: 4Go (2x2Go) DDR2 Ballistix
Alimentation: Xilence 550Watts

The error happen when HD audio driver is installed

You purchased a GTX460, not a 460GT.

Anyways why can't you re-install Win7? What happens?

Huh? Yes I did a mistake its not a 460GT but GTX....... you are quibbling...

And my problem as I said is not the installation of Windows 7 but on the installation of the graphic card. When I install drivers I have a blue screen of the death and it is not recognize in the MB's bios.

or maybe, can you tell me what is wrong in my post please....

I asked you why you can't install Win7 and you say your problem is not the installation of Win7..............

Well I mean no installation of any drivers were working

Why are you looking for the video card in the bios??

Maybe the GDDR Ram card's is not supported by my MB I don't know, I just seen Graphic card: UNKOWN in the bios that's mean there is a problem no?

When are you trying to install the drivers? From where? How? Did you install the motherboards chipset drivers first?? What is the blue screen error??

After the Windows seven installation I directly install the graphics driver using the .exe on the nvidia website and from the CD, by launching the .exe and follow instructions (you know next, next, Agree, next, next, install, finich...)
Motherboard Chipset is already installed by seven And i am not able to see the blue screen on seven I see it only from XP, its error 0f0000116.

Ok, well, my english is not my native language so maybe I did and do some mistakes, what I wanted to said is that I install the graphic driver using directly the setup of nvidia and from the CD. Is that clear now?

I don't want to debate on my capacity to repair computers and I am not claiming to be a professional but trust me I know how to install drivers and computer parts.

Also if you know how to fix parameters in win7 to makes the error stay on the screen I would be glad because it stop with a black screen (not like Win Xp with the BSOD).

So if you know what may cause this type of error just answer it.
I will remember you: after the installation of the graphic card when the PC reboot after the drivers installation I log in and few second after the PC crash on a black screen for Win7 and a BSOD for winXP.

And Please stop asking me to do some common tips. I tried everything except the FLASH of the bios (I am still waiting an answer from MSI).

Well considering you didn't even know the name of your new video card, I assumed you knew about as much about installing it.

rofl ::it is my friend who have this issue I am not at his home soI can't verify 100% the name as It is a new card from nvidia and from this brand they name their card generally xx00AAA (like 9800GTX etc...) and not AAAxxx, so please understand I can make an error on names....

is the power suply powerful enough(12v amp per rail)to run the card?
seems with no drivers its running and once device drivers insalled it give you a bsod correct?

The power supply is new we (me and my friend) purchased it for this card cause we had a 350W no-named.
The new on is 550W modular Xilence with 2 modules for CrossFire/SLI (I know this brand is not really a good choice but it cost around 80$ and we thought that this PS was enough). Both are plugged on the Graphic card.
I verified voltages and they seems to be normal. (I will post the results in the new next post, I didn't noticed them).

Yes you are right. with no drivers (it means that the card runs with standard VGA driver from Win7) it runs.
And then, when I install the card drivers at the boot I have a blackscreen. As you know on Win7 we do not see the BSOD we have to set it up to show it. So all I have on win7 is a blackScreen (When I ll be in front on this computer I ll see the log files to get the error and I ll tell you).

Do you think that the Power Supply (although it is new) may dysfunction?

could be its a bit weak on the 12v lines from what i found

Specificaties:

* Totaal : 550 Watt
* +3,3V: 30A
* +5V: 32A
* +12V - 1: 18A
* +12V - 2: 20A
* -12V: 0,5A
* +5VSB: 2,5A

cant find a page with the req min amps for the 460gtx

could just as wel be a software problem (drivers)

ok lets try another thing,as i recall its your freinds system,can you try the card in your system?

would rule out driver problem (don't know what your PSU is do )
