hey guys!

long time reader, first poster here.

I have what may seem like a silly question... I built a rig this morning that is using the ASUS P6X58D motherboard (full specs in signature). I'm using 3 SATA 3gb drives and 1 SATA 6gb drive. I see the 3 3gb drives clearly in the bios, but I'm not sure where to find the 6gb drive to see if it is properly installed. also it doesnt show up on the boot order list. this there something i need to activate to turn it on? I don't feel like it was marked clearly in the manual. thanks!

I don't have an answer for your issue but wanted to post my experience. I had exactly the same issue and posted to the ASUS forum. It was recommended that I reflash the BIOS to 0904, which originally worked fine, but didn't fix the issue. The SATA III drive was not visible in the BIOS or to the OS. I then changed the storage config for RAID 5 across the 3 SATA II drives and the entire board is disabled with the following message:

NVRAM not enough space in runtime area!! SMBIOS will not be available

No solution yet, just a dead mobo. I'm sure I'll solve it, but this is a tough one.
