Vcore spiking from .85 V to 1.24

This new i7 3930 build has been shutting down like someone yanked the plug out of it. Event viewer shows Kernel-Power crashes.. one or two every couple days.

I’ve been watching my Vcore voltage and it runs at 0.853 V with a spike to 1.24 V once or twice a minute. All of my other voltage values are straight lines.

Should Vcore bounce around depending on a load or is this power supply wonky?

The V-core and frequency should go up and down according to load. (Unless you have disabled all the power saving functions)
