Hi all,

I have the Tritton AX Pro gaming headset, and am currently in the process of building a computer. The headset accepts firewire or analog, and I would like to choose a motherboard that will support the firewire.

Here's the catch; I would also like the motherboard to support SATA III, because I will upgrade to a SSD when the price drops in (hopefully) the near future.

Is there such a motherboard out there? Or should I be looking for a USB adapter for the headset/just stay with analog!

The motherboard I'm looking at is this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...cm_re=gigabyte_p55_ud3-_-13-128-412-_-Product

Which does not have firewire.

Two last question; are there adapters out there for eSATA jacks to downgrade to firewire? And could anyone possibly suggest a sound card that accepts firewire connections?

Thanks in advance.

Well, by the motherboard chosen I'd guess the OP is looking at the 860 (LGA 1156). If that is the case I'd suggest the ASUS P7P55D-E PRO ($190). This has the IEEE 1394 (Firewire), USB 3.0 and SATA III.

If you're actually getting the 920 (LGA 1366) and just made a mistake I'd suggest the ASUS P6X58D ($310).

As for the cables, from a few quick searches I couldn't find anything, but I didn't look exhaustively, so it might just be hiding.

Excellent, that is what I'm looking for.
