Which is better for a default browser-ie or firefox?

I don't do much on the computer. I play games on MSN, use facebook and some word games there, I make dart reports on LLDL and look up a few health questions, have an email account which doesn't get used much anymore and that's it. So IE freezes or doesn't respond and Firefox keeps putting ads in front of the play now section. What am I to do. I am a senior with no knowledge of how to change settings. This is crazy to me. They both should work well and yet neither does. Can you help me?

Go with Firefox. Just install the "AdBlock+" plugin, available via "Tools > Add-ons" to block virtually all ads.
