Let me redo this:

Basically - Will I see a HUGE increase if I upgrade my motherboard to a PCI Express 2.0 slot instead of keeping my PCI Express 1.0 motherboard. Using a EVGA 250 GTS 2.0 card?

I think your other post got deleted... just after i pushed submit to. :(

anyway the reason you dont see a performance increase while using a pcie 1.0 vs 2.0 is because your GTS 250 and 8400 GT are not powerfull enough to saturate the 1.0 slot thus the extra bandwith provided by the 2.0 slot dose not get used.

I remember an article here at toms that explored the bottlenecking of the pcie slots. it used a 4870x2 with farcry1 on 5 different resolutions w/ and w/o AA/AF. they would run the game and record the FPS then take the card and tape it so that it became a x8 slot then x4 then x1 to see at what resolution which you will begin to see a bottleneck. basicaly all that i remember is that 1680x1050 w/and w/o AA and 1920x1080 w/o AA where not bottlenecked by a pcie 2.0 slot at 8x (equivilant to a pcie 1.0 at 16x). everything above 1920x1080 w/ AA and 2550x1600 w/ and w/o AA was bottlenecked.
