If I were to overclock an AMD Phenom II X4 ON STOCK COOLING, what kind of performance increases could I see in gaming, and how do they compare against the Intel competition? What if I also overclocked on a CPU COOLER like the CM Hyper 212? Thx :)

212 is excellent choice.

Since there are many PII X4 models, you should probably tell us which one your talking about.

You could see a very good performance increase, depending on what games your talking about. It'll never equal a modern Intel quad core, but it really doesn't matter unless your running multiple high end video cards.

The lowest model Intel quad will destroy a 965BE. But it's still a quite capable and overclockable chip.
