Phenom II X4 OC = Intel ?

If I were to overclock an AMD Phenom II X4 ON STOCK COOLING, what kind of performance increases could I see in gaming, and how do they compare against the Intel competition? What if I also overclocked on a CPU COOLER like the CM Hyper 212? Thx

212 is excellent choice.

Since there are many PII X4 models, you should probably tell us which one your talking about.

You could see a very good performance increase, depending on what games your talking about. It'll never equal a modern Intel quad core, but it really doesn't matter unless your running multiple high end video cards.

The lowest model Intel quad will destroy a 965BE. But it's still a quite capable and overclockable chip.

my overclocked x4 840 can match my stock I7 920 in cinebench

i7-920 is two generations behind current cpu's and it's only 2.66ghz.......

It will be fine I run a OC 1090T and a 670GTX everything run fine on a 4 monitor setup.
