I ordered separate RAM modules from newegg for my new build:
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8 G
8-8-8-24 timing
and
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX6GX3M3C1600C7
7-8-7-20 timing
They are identical units with slightly different timings. Can they be synced in my BIOS to run at identical timings? I know that mixed timings is a bad idea in terms of stability and speed, but I'd rather not RMA one of the sets just to fix timings I might be able to do myself.

Solution
Those 2 sets should work together -- just setup the system using the Model TR3X6G1600C8 set - then boot and go into the BIOS and manually set the timings for the looser set (8-8-8-24) - SAVE and shut down and install the tighter timed modules and restart (by having manually set the timings to the 8-8-8-24 it will remain there and the 7-8-7-20 timed set should operate fine at 8-8-8-24.
