Cant figure memory upgrade out

It seems like there is such a huge variety in types of memory and I cant seem to figure it out.

I have a dimension E310 with this memory in it currently:

400- and 533-MHz DDR2 unbuffered SDRAM

Memory connectors

Memory capacities

256 MB, 512 MB, or 1 GB non-ECC

Maximum memory

2 GB

BIOS address

Can anyone send me a link to newegg or tigerdirect for a 1gb stick that would be compatible?

Thanks in advance

  1. Better yet, go to and use their memory upgrade tool. You don't have to buy the RAM from Crucial, but you'll see what is compatible for your system. Just be mindful of the density (GB) limitation, as Crucial's tool doesn't always take that into account when recommending RAM.
  2. thanks for the response.

Is crucial brand a solid brand for buying RAM?

they have a 1gb stick for 25 which is the pricepoint i was looking for so I will go ahead and buy it as long as its not poor quality.
  3. Crucial is among the top brands. Others include, but not limited to:

    1. G.Skill
    2. OCZ
    3. Corsair
