Network controller

With the performance, information and tools I get "nforce networking controller couldn't start properly. I upgraded from xp to vista. Its an Emachine AMD Athlon 64 processor 3800 2.41G. Thanks

  1. Try uninstalling the drivers and reinstall them.

    It is possible that the NIC is bad. If that is the case get an add-on PCI or PCI-E nic.
  2. Did you download latest nVidia chipset drivers for Vista, if not get them.

    Don't use XP drivers, they bugger it all up.
  3. I think this sort of problem is normal during an OS upgrade. Any pieces of hardware not directly supported by Vista would require updated drivers in order to function. As long as there is a compatible Vista driver you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
