I want to put an XP HDD into a new PC. The new PC cam with Windows 7 and I wanted to put an existing XP HDD into it and retain all of the prgrams and data. It turns out the XP machine was built as a Windows 7 PC and when the previous user loaded XP they left the BIOS set up for ADHI so now apparently there is no way to load the standard IDE drivers for the HD controller onto this XP HDD.

Does anybody know the workaround for this???? :pfff: :pfff:

You can not take a drive with XP on it and put it in a different computer and expect XP to work unless the computers are almost identical. You would have to do a clean install with XP.
