Hello everybody. Here is the issue: im using MSI H55M-ED55 Mobo, i3 540 CPU, Wintec 4Gb(2x2Gb) ddr3 1333, GTS 250 and win 7 x64. In system properties it shows that only 3.87Gb of my memory is usable. Here is the question im using dedicated Videocard and 64 bit operating system why all 4gb of memory are not usable, i assume onboard graphics reserves part of 4Gb ram, but main VGA set to PCI-E, not to onboard. Is it specifics of h55/57 chipset, or smth is wrong?

More about : 87gb usable 4gb ram

Are you really missing the .13gb of ram?

is there anyone using h55/57 boards with dedicated graphics? Is it common for all h55/57 boards?

Onboard. Sorry, left that out.

Also have an i5 750, Win7-64, with 8GB installed, 8GB usable, no onboard graphics.

That should close the deal :)

I have the same issue with my h55 biostar board, but I'm not messing with the memory settings in the bios just to gain so little ram. I would leave it alone if your sysem is running well.

Its not right, i feel like someone stole 137Mb of happiness from me. :non:  In fact ive contacted intel to find out if this behavior is normal for h55/57 chipsets in general and they said its not. If i dont use onboard video it should not reserve any ram.

If Intel's answer is correct, perhaps your BIOS only has options for "Onboard first" and "PEG first", and not for "PEG only".

It may be that mobo makers don't value 137MB as much as you do, at least on cheaper boards.

Yea, im kinda leaning towards bios issue. By the way each ram stick when installed by itself reads as fully usable but together they show up as 4 Gb installed / 3.87 Gb usable.
