1394 net adapter drivers

I had to reinstall XP after a nasty bout with a virus. I can't get the internet to connect and have been told I need to download the drivers to a disk using my other computer, but all the downloads want to update the drivers on the computer that works, not download the files to a disk. What should I do?

1394 is the Firewire adapter not ethernet network adapter.

Instead of running the updates, just download them. Usually right click on the file name in the download section of the support site.

Read my question again, particularly the last part. It won't download to a disc or jump drive.

You need to go to the manufacturers website for the motherboard of the "broken" pc. From there you can download and save the drivers to a usb key. Don't use an update utility as this wont work.

If the drivers are trying to update on there own then you aren't doing it right.
