Har Driv not recognized

Installing Windows XP, Hard drive is not recognized by Windows, but is recognized by system setup, hence giving me message " unknown drive/drive not found"
what do I do.

Try plugging the drive into another port on the motherboard.
Open the bios, and set the drive to boot first.

Thanks for the reply, my mistake forgot to switch the 'ON" button for the drive in the system setup, once I turned it on the drive came to life.
