Psu requirement for xfx hd 4890

guys i've got a cooler master 500w psu and just bought a hd4890 which has 2 6pin connectors.
my concern being whether my 500w psu will do good to the gpu i bought without blowing up my rig..?
is there any measures to be taken? coz i really cant change the products anymore for now since im dead broke![:)]( ":)")

core2 quad q9300 @2.5 Ghz
dg33tl mobo
4gb transcend
coolermaster 500w psu
xfx hd 4890 1 gig gddr5
cm 690 chassis

Yeah its better than the 460W model but still dont know how a brand like Cooler Master came out with these time bombs!!

Outside India you get better brands at same price.
