Hey Everybody Thanks for reading my post,

My question is...going to do a new build this weekend. Have a P68pro Motherboard which supports SSD caching. I was wondering if I can use an SSD drive as my boot drive and use a 2nd SSD as a caching drive? The only reason I ask is I'm going to order a larger SSD drive today to replace my 60GB one. Its way to small to even be a boot drive. I know that the SSD caching is intended to support a platter drive but would it help a SSD?

Is it possible, and is it pointless.

The new drive will be a Vortex 3 120 sata 3 and the old is a phoenix pro sata 2.

Solution
No an SSD would not improve another SSD performance with drive caching, moreover if you have a real SSD drive caching for your HDDs is not worthwhile IMO. Use the 60gb drive in a laptop or as a scratch/program drive on your new build.

Hey Realbeast,

Thanks for the answer. I did a little more forum digging and saw someone else ask this question a while ago. Looks like it might end up being a drive for my EA Origin files or something? LOL I could put it in my laptop, but it really gathers dust now that I bought an IPad. Talk about making my laptop obsolete.
