i cannot find my wpa key and long story short its making my life hell. i tried logging onto my friend's wireless signal and now it looks like the signal has turned into mine and i have no idea where to find my wpa key to try and reverse this whole mess.
I don't know what to make of your analysis. All I can suggest is that you look at the literature which came with your router and go to the router setup screens (via your browser and an ethernet cable). Once in, go to wireless security and review or renew the security choices and WPA passphrase . Apply correct security type and passphrase to your wireless adapter's user interface (or Windows Wireless Connection). Disconnect ethernet cable, see if you can connect wirelessly.
If you have problems try disabling wireless security briefly in the router which may help narrow down the issues.
