I finally put together my gaming computer and started to overclock.

I want to test out the system to see if it is stable and i dont know what software, how to run the tests, or what to expect from the results.

Here is my rig:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($27.98 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($181.98 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card ($399.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Zalman ZM-Z9 U3 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($64.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W 80 PLUS Silver Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

I overclocked the CPU to 4.2 and left the GPU with its stocked overclock.

The CPU voltage is on auto and runs at 1.164 to the mobos auto of 1.194

I changed the memory to 8-8-8-24 from the mobos auto of 11-11-11-28 to fit the memory i bought

I had it at 4.3 and slightly increased the GPUs overclock to 104% power and +24 core clock and + 12 memory clock but while playing borderlands 2 the game froze so i went back to 4.2, coulda been the GPU as well so i reverted that back to their defaulted stock overclock

Use Heaven for the GPU and Intel Burn Test for the CPU.

Prime 95 blend test. (temps and general stability)
Intel burn test (temps and stability, more heat than prime 95)
3Dmark GPU test with some CPU stress.
Unigine heaven GPU test.

Be methodical with your overclocking and testing so you know which variable you pushed too far when instability is detected.

I would stress test with the GPU at stock settings and nail down CPU before messing with the video card.
