I hope it doesn’t cause too much of a headache, but being in Canada I’ve priced all my components from CDN suppliers in CDN$. ‘Megacomputer.ca’ is just a local dealer, save on shipping, but not preferred.

From what I have researched on TH, I think that these are the best components I can get for my money. I am just not sure about how well they mesh, or if there is a reasonable upgrade I should spend the extra $20 to get, please let me know. I only buy systems every 5 years or so, so usually once they are built I don’t fool around with parts.

How much higher can you go? I have a couple of suggestions that might push the budget...

Mobo: Get a USB 3/SATA III board. I recommend the Asus P7P55D-E Pro.

RAM: Get some CAS Latency 7 sticks. Newegg (.com) has some Corsair XMS3 sticks that are fairly low priced.

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB. It should be cheaper, but it's the best drive out there right now.

Other than that, it's pretty good.
