Samsu 2tb hard disk

Hi,

I have an internal 3.5" samsung 2tb drive that i am in need of getting the data from, it sits in an exteral drive caddy. when i turn it o ni get several long beeps ad widows does not recognise it. i have tried this in a couple of different caddies and i get the same issue.

Any suggestions would be great as it has a lot of data which i ca not lose.

Try hooking it up directly to the motherboard and see if it works. This will at least rule out the caddies as a problem.

thanks for the suggestion but i have tried 2 completely different types of caddy which work with another of the same drive.

I have a duplicate of the same drive that has the same pcb on it, if i swap this onto the drive with the problem so you think it would work?
