GPU Help

Hi Everyone,

I need to find an affordable GPU that will still complement my rig.

My Specs are:

Intel i7 3770k Ivy Bridge
Asus P8Z77-v- Pro
Seasonic 620 watt PSU
16GB Ripsaw X series
120GB Agility Sata 3 SSD
Using my 3TB external WD 3.0 to save games. etc

I am looking for a compatible GPU that is in the $150-250 and I would like to get decent overclocking speeds.

Any suggestions? Thank you

  1. "Seaview..." Did you mean "Seasonic?"

Assuming you will be playing games, I believe you can find a HD7850 at the high end of your range, and a HD7770 at the bottom end.
Make sure your system has a magnetic hard drive in it also, if only to store an image backup of your OCZ Sandforce SSD.

Haha yes, Seasonic it has been a long day. Looking into both your recommendations now
  3. Yes the HD7850, the one sold out GPU on newegg. I really like the HD 7850 if you know where I can find it relatively close to newegg (which is sold out) I'd appreciate it.

There are plenty of HD7850s available at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709+600286767+600298542&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&IsNodeId=1&Subcategory=48&description=&hisInDesc=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&AdvancedSearch=1&srchInDesc=
The only one out of stock is the Asus, and I would not buy that one. As good as their mobos are, I've had to RMA 2/4 Asus graphics cards I bought for failures within hours or days of first use. I prefer XFX, HIS, or MSI for graphics cards.

Well well well, if you play the rebate game and win, you can get a nice XFX HD7870: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150606 or you can go for a less expensive one that is within your budget without the rebate game: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150604
