Hello,
for a few months now my hard drive(s) will suddenly not show up on my computer and in turn I can not access the programs I have on them.

I have 1 SSD and 1 HDD. The HDD crashes when I am in a session on my computer and the SSD (Where my OS is installed) crashes after a shutdown or restart.

Something I have found that will treat the issue is just unplugging and plugging the SATA cables back into each of the hard drives and restarting my computer.

What I have tried and has failed:

1) Checking the Connectors on my Motherboard
- I have tried every combination of connectors to plug the SATA cables into, the problem still persists.

2) Replacing the SATA cables

3) Reformatting lol?

4) clr CMOS

This issue has cost me a lot of time with he random computer freezes and countless headaches any advice is appreciated.

Both of them having issues points to the motherboard as a likely culprit.

I have an ASRock P55 Pro/USB3 motherboard if that helps at all, heh.

the board being the culprit does not matter manufacturer, Have you tested without the storage drive?

Tested the motherboard without the hard drives plugging in? I don't understand what you mean nor do I know how to do it :\

I meant with the OS drive (SSD) not the HDD (storage) just to see if the symptoms disappeared.

I just tested this and I only get a message that says "Reboot and select proper boot device".

With hardware 100% sure is difficult but the odds that both drives experiencing problems at the same time are slim so it points to the common factor which is the controller on the board.
