Asus M5A97 (non-evo) mobo
Antec 920 closed loop
Kingston T1 Black 1866 (2x4)
Asus 6770 1GB
Antec 300 case (with dual front intake, side intake, negative internal pressure)
I'm not too worried about the video card, as I will be upgrading it in the near future, but I am trying to get more from my overclocks.
I had been successful with a 48 hour prime stable 4.5Ghz overclock (temps <50C), but I feel I can get more from my hardware. All I have tried so far is just multiplier overclocking, and I'm hesitant to bump the voltage higher than 1.45 for 24/7 operation (I was able to hit 4.6 with 1.35 core voltage). I know the memory has been reviewed as stable close to 2200, but I'm concerned about the stability of the mobo, since it is a 4+2 that has VRM protection. I would like to think that I have a little more to gain from the system, but I don't want to bypass the auto shutdown (and I'm very hesitant to start tweaking more than just the cpu core/nb voltages, as my ambient temp is close to 30C at times).
Any suggestions from anyone that has experience from this mobo as far as to how much I might be able to push the fsb up safely? I'm quite content that I can get a 25% increase, but I'm just tempted to try to get a 33% overclock, and am looking for some advice or hints.
