I'm getting ready to set-up a wired network to go along with my existing wireless but I'm having a hard time deciding on which switch to get. I want a unit that is reliable both in its lifespan and network performance so i've been leaning towards models geared for small businesses with the idea that they'd be a little more robust. It's also important for the switch to maintain 100/1000 mbps speeds concurrently. The network will be structured as follows:
Internet > ADSL Modem > Apple Airport Extreme > Switch > Desktops/NAS/Printer/Home theater.
The airport extreme will be serving 4 laptops as well as iphones/itouches wirelessly. I think that <$150 should suffice since almost all switches i've looked up thus far are in the $50 - $75 range.
Thanks
