I need a low end graphic card for web surfing and watching you tube videos. It's not for gaming. It's an old Dell Dimension 4100. D815EEA AAA10383-205 motherboard with a Pentium III 1.0GHz processor. 256 x 2 RAM. 200 W PSU. Windows XP. Any suggestions? Thanks.

when you talk of video viewing, are we talking about watching DVDs or are we talking about streaming hulu and netflix? Because those two actually require a little muscle. I don't know if a 1GHz P3 and a 9550 is going to cut it. Hulu stutters on my old laptop Pentium M 1.7GHz and Mobility 9700 Pro (which is similar to a 9600 Pro desktop chip).

What do you mean by discrete GPU? It's not my primary computer. It's just something on the side for simple web surfing and video viewing for family members. I already upgraded the Processor to a Pentium III, that's the max for this particular motherboard. I've also maxed out the RAM at 256x2 MB. I will put in a 120 GB IDE HD and a PCI wireless card.

Youtube and netflix. I don't think this computer can play DVD's. I tried the computer out with the current set up and it plays you tube just fine, just not HD. It does get a little choppy, but nothing really bad. With a slightly better GPU that should be less of an issue..I imagine.
