Fan Controller = 8w, Fans > 8w

This is sorta a water cooling question but it mostly involves the fans in my water cooling setup so I'm posting it here. I ordered four 'Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm x 25mm Fan - 4250 RPM'. I also ordered a 'AeroCool X-Vision Fan Controller / 5 Channel / Temp Sensor - Black' which supports 8w per channel. I am aware I will not be able to run my fans at max speed but will it work at like half speed?

More about : fan controller fans

They are only rated @ 6.72 W each, so just don't double up and you will be fine.

Most fans take less then the rated power once they get going any way.

They are rated @ 16.2 watts to get moving(startup), but it is just for a very short time and should be ok.

It should startup just fine. All fans have a much higher startup current(something the controller makers take into consideration) then running current.

As long as you do not get the faster fans(5,400 rpm @ 13.68 watts), you can use one fan per channel on that unit safely.

Ohh link here too.
