Hello everyone. Just got a new board and noticed that it is running hotter then the cpu? Is that normal.

the cpu Core 2 Due e4400 temp at idel is 32c and the motherboard is 46C. Room is 22C?

Is this hot?

I have three fans, two air in and one out.

Thanks

Didn't you get the tiny fan that comes with the retail packaged P5N-D and it's for the Northbridge?

Anywaym when I had my P5N-D the huge copper cooler on the NB was always too hot to touch for more than 2 seconds and the motherboard temps were in the low 40's idle and 49 sometimes 50 after an hour of Crysis. But then again I kept the e8400 on a 1600 fsb so w/out OC'ing the temps should be lower.

The package said the fan was for water cooling only, Ill put it on and see if that helps?

Great links, THANKS! :) I took the heatsink off and removed the oem compound. Replaced it with Arctic Alumina on both northbridge and pci2.0 chips, then replaced heatsink and put on the fan.

Should I get some better artic silver or just leave it like that?

Also, should I bother with the southbridge?

Thanks
