My hard drive has crashed and i need to move windows xp to a new hard drive with

Hard drive no my computer crashed. I have purchased a ne hard drive and would like to install windows xp os on the new hard drive. Can I use the same cdkey that i had used during installation of my first hard drive

If it's a retail version of XP, then yes. If it's an OEM version it probably won't activate. You may need to call the microsoft activation phone number and explain to them that your motherboard died. If they are nice, they will give you a new activation key, but they don't have to on an OEM version.
