Here is what I have so far:

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 $93
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition $150
Zalman CPU cooler off old build
ASUS Black Drive $24
OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W $45
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB $60
Nvidia 8800GS off of another computer
Still looking for a good deal on a case.

Now should I go with the GA-870A-UD3 or the GA-890XA-UD3

No contest, I'd go for the GA-890XA-UD3. Here's why:

1. Faster PCI-E lanes (x16+x4) vs (x16+x8) making it nearly impossible to Crossfire Graphics cards

2. $6 less after MIR on newegg

Otherwise pretty close.

Also, have you thought about investing a little more and getting a higher quality board with similar features?

Might I suggest the:
MSI 870A FUZION AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard ($140)
or this great deal from TigerDirect for an Asus M4A88TD-V EVO USB3 Motherboard - AMD 880GX, Socket AM3, ATX, DDR3, USB 3.0, RAID, SATA 6.0GB/s ($120)

This Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 is a good option too but keep in mind that this UD4 has a 750SB and not the new 850SB

I think that im gonna go with the 890xa, another guy showed me a mb/ram combo for $154 that is close to the same ram, so I am just gonna take the ram that comes with it and swap it into another system i built that has the gskill ram. That with another combo dropped my overall price to $575 w/tax and shipping. So other than the mb how does the system look?

Seems fine, but in the future a new GPU is a good option.

Agree... The 8800GT was the best in it's day but those have long been gone. To truly enjoy a gaming experience, you want a newer GPU.

Yup, with a well-cooled case and an upgraded graphics card, this would be a very solid system.
