How do I run the programs on my 2.5\

I have built a new PC Using the Antec DF-35 case. Intel i5-2500K, ASRock Z68 extreme 4 MB, WD Black 1TB HD. 8GB Corsair Vengeance, running Win 7 Pro 64 bit. It is not set up for Raid since I am using a singe drive. How do I run the programs on the 2.5" HD plugged in to the top slot of the case from my dead HP 9207 Laptop. HD is fine and running Vista OS. I tried to launch Quickbooks and it must have time out and never ran. Do I need to set up something differently? Thanks

You don't run programs from it, you go find your old installation disks for each program and re-install them on the new system.
90% of programs willl not work properly unless you install them on that particular system

Thanks, that's dissapointing. I thought I would be able to run the progams on the Laptop HD.
