:hello:

I bought a new E6600 Wolfdale to put on one of my system

i got strange temp difference between both core

idle core 0 @40c core 1 @32c
100% core 0 @50c core 1 @44c

why is there 6 to 8c between cores, I reinstall the cooler just to be sure, of course i will adjust me cooler fan speed faster to get lower idle temp, but my question still why that much temp diff ?

I have old e6600 Conroe and temp diff are kindof 2c
i used pc wizard for temp.

:ange:

That's normal.
As for the reason, I am unsure.

I had E8400 processor which also gave those readings. Same as enzo matrix, I do not know the reason.

My e6500 Wolfdale runs 35, 36 C on idle and under full load the temps stay within 2 degress of each other.

But my e8400 idles, 36 and 44 also a significant difference between two cores virtually touching each.

Thanks guys !

after 1 night at 100% cpu, that new cpu seems to be stable and kept his cores temperature diff at the same value .

so it seems to work like that .

PS Enzo, how is your sister Dot, it has been a long time since I went to Mainframe ! but I might be there soon ! :hello:
