Stable overclock on linux

Hello, guys
i have a 3960x i have over clocked it to 4.8Ghz, it is constant at 4.8Ghz on windows but when i boot in linux it goes down to 1.6Ghz is there any way that i can keep a stable over clock on linux at 4.8ghz?
btw i am using a sabertooth x79 motherboard and 16gb of ram g-skill ripjawz X (4X4)

that's just power saving features kicking in, you can disable them in the BIOS
