Partition Size and spacing

Hello,
Have a 1TB drive and have it partitiond in 3 sections with a 200+Gig unallocated at the end. When I try to copy a 46gig partition from another HD it wants to leave about 6gig between the last and the new copy unallocated. Why??

I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, perhaps partitons need aligned on certain sector counts.

how do you copy the 46GB partition from another HD? Generally speaking, when you copy one partition from another HD drive, there will be a 100MB-300MB reserve space, but in your situation the "reserve space" seems too large, I think the problem is casused by the mehtod you select to copy. You could try this method "copy partition from one hard drive to another"
