I just finished my latest budget build and decided to post a few pics. The system is for my daughter and will be used for general purpose computing in the short term (as in Facebook, email and MS Office work). The build started off as this but morphed a little at the time of ordering.

The final build and a few comments:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition Heka 2.8GHz , $105. Went with Proximon's recommendation.
Mobo: ASUS M4A785T-M/CSM AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX , $85
RAM: GeIL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 , $100
GPU: Using integrated for now
Cooler: Cooler Master Intel Core i5 compatible Hyper TX3 , $0. A friend gave me it so I elected to use it.
Hard Disk: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM , $55. I now have four of these in various systems (one system has two in RAID0). Like 'em.
Optical: LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 24X DVD-R SATA Black 24X DVD Writer LightScribe , $32
PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-450CX 450W ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS . $50 (combo with DVD burner). I've only used Corsair PSUs in my builds. I just wish the ATX12V cable was a little longer so I could have routed it up behind the mobo in my case.
Case: Antec Mini P180 Black Steel MicroATX Mini Tower , $50 with free shipping (a newegg Shell Shocker deal). Best microATX case I've used so far.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit

First off, system looks nice! I have a quick question for you though, what are the loops on the side of the cages? Do the cages slide out sideways?

Yes, the two cages slide out sideways by pulling on the loops. When not being used, the bottom of each loop snaps into a clip so it won't cause noise by jiggling.

The case comes with two fans. If you want to install a front fan, you'll need to remove one of the cages.
