I just bought a Phaser 850 for use at home, and I have a question re: the ink consumption from the cleaning cycle. I know the best bet is to leave this printer on continuously, and plan to do so.
My question is: what specifically triggers a cleaning cycle?
Is it any interruption of power, or ink cooling to a certain temperature, or ... ? My concern is that living in an older neighborhood, we do get power "flickers", or power outages of 1-10 seconds a couple times a month. Will these be of sufficient duration to trigger a cleaning cycle?
My initial plan was to bypass the problem by putting the Phaser 850 on a UPS, *but* due to the high power consumption during warmup (up to 1000 watts), when I attempt to turn on the printer plugged into a UPS, it sends the UPS into an error state immediately. The power consumption during normal operation is not a problem, it's only during warmup that the power consumption spikes to that degree. Being that the plan is to leave the printer on indefinitely, if only I could get past that initial spike.
I started with a CyberPower 325, then upped to a CyberPower 625AVR. Do I simply need to get a gonzo UPS?
