DX11 Video Card Question

The trend of game development seems to be moving towards dx10/dx11 demanding a windows7 update. I want to update my video card to a 5000 series Radeon when I change over my operating system. My LCD maxes out at 1280x1024. It's hard to get a good appreciation of how modern cards perform when benchmarks are performed at ridiculous resolutions with ridiculous AA and AF. I want to know if a 5770 can cruise at 1280x1024 on dx10/dx11 games.

My current build tackles many games at highest settings without problems which is driven by an Athlon X2 7850 Kuma BE and an NVIDIA 7950 GT.

Even Crysis runs seamlessly at 1280x1024 with most settings set to High.

I don't understand these benchmark reviews that seem to think most people play with their faces a foot from a ~30 inch monitor AND require 8xAA! Rant over, appreciate any and all opinions.
