MSI G31M overclock.. help?

Hello, I have recently gotten a new computer case for my computer(Zalman Z9plus) and feel pretty confident about over clocking my cpu. I was just wondering how to do so.
My computer Specs are:
windows 7
Pentium Dual-Core E5500 @2.80GHz
4096 GB ram
AMD Radeon HD 6700 1GB

I was just wondering if I could over clock it to 3GHz or maybe even a tad higher, but would like a little bit of help on doing so. thanks! :)

  1. You should be able to get 3.6Ghz. But you need decent aftermarket cpu cooler like hyper 212+

Follow this thread. I overclock my 5400cpu with same as yours.

    You will be fine.
  2. Thing is though, no matter how much I change the CPU FSB speed, it still shows as 2.8GHZ in CPUID, and in windows. maybe point out my error using these pictures?
thanks! (BOIS is AMI American Megatrends v7.4)
