Hi,
I'm interested in finding out more about the Sharp Actius AV18 and MC22.
I've heard that Sharp's support stinks, but how about the hardware? Does
anyone have any long-term experience (6 months at least) with either of the
above laptops? I'd like to know if they're reliable, and if they have any
issues (overheating, flimsy components, etc).

Confirmed.

HW is OK.

I've had a couple of earlier Actius models,
and would never buy one again (in spite of
the fact that I am a big fan of Sharp LCDs).

The HW is fine, but since support is next to
invisible (when it isn't downright harmful),
why would you even consider buying one ?!?
After many years of using laptops (starting
with the 1st *LUGGABLE* Compaq model) and
having had upwards of 3 dozen in my hands,
the short list is: IBM, Fujitsu, Panasonic.
