Quick question!

A friend asked me what temps he would get if he was using a hyper 212 evo on an i5 3570k in a haf 912... since i couldn't really answer that question straight up i thought i would ask you smart people. :na: 

edit: what temps would he get if he overclocked to 4ghz+

Upwards of 80C, remember Ivybridge runs 20C hotter than Sandybridge. His limit would be 4ghz.

I don't know where you're getting this information, but a 4 GHz overclock on a stock Intel cooler doesn't even run the numbers this high.

To the OP: The CM Hyper 212 Evo is a very good cooler and will allow your friend to overclock to 4 GHz safely. If he is doing intensive applications/workloads, temps will definitely be higher than idle, but nowhere near the 80ºC that the member above posted.
