GAP55A-UD4 + Xeon x3460 s1156

Hi Mates,

I was wondering arround if I a x3460 (actually similar to the i7 860), is supported by my motherboard.

I've got a GAP55A-UD4 with F9 Bios. After searching the internet, I've found no reference on this question...

Can somebody give me a hand?

Well, considering that the Xeon W3520 is a higher binned server/workstation qualified Core i7 920, I'm just supposing that the Xeon X3460 is a Core i7 860 which is higher binned and server/workstation qualified. The W3520 and 920 work in the same boards, and I'm supposing the X3460 and 860 will be the same. I could be wrong, though.

Has anyone actually used a regular MB that's made for the regular i7 1156 and put the Xeon x3460 on and its working?

I am looking to get such a MB but found no info anywhere to confirm this.
