Opinions of this potential home built system?

^ Then here are some changes that you can make...

1. RAM - The Dominators are targeted towards the overclocking crowd...
These RAMs would be a better choice as even these are as good as those Dominators at stock speeds and even these are pretty good at overclocking...
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

2. CASE - That case doesnt seem to have very good cooling and for an i7, it will be good if you choose a different case with better airflow...

3. HDD - Like I said the Samsung F3s are better than the WD Black 500GB...

4. Graphics card - If the apps that you use take advantage of the CUDA from Nvidia, then only stick with those cards...
And I would suggest this card...

If you wont be gaming, then this card also would suffice...

5. Mobo - Check this mobo...If you wont be adding 1 more graphics card in SLI/ Crossifre, then this board will be a good option...
Gigabyte UD3R - Also has USB 3.0 and SATA 6GB/s...
