Ram bios option in hcl

i have hcl pc ,i had upgraded its ram to 1gd but still it shows 512 mb in properties what should i do?

did you add another stick of ram or switch to a larger one, some older mb's have a limit on mow big the sticks can be

if it is two stick try each one individually and each slot individually to isolate the problem
