CPU cooling

I have an old motherboard (Abit th7 raid) and looking to replace the cpu fan...is there a particular type i should get so that it fits??

The CPU fan did not come with the motherboard, it came with the CPU heatsink or it was purchased separately. There is no way to know what fan you currently have. If you have a stock HSF and can tell us the CPU model, we can figure out which fan you can replace it with.
But no. If it looks the same size and has screw holes in the same place or clicks on the same way and has a plug that fits on the motherboard where the old one did, you can get that.
